2. Ignition Method: Use a match or lighter to ignite the wick. Never use one alcohol lamp to light another to avoid alcohol spillage.

3. Heating Posture: Keep the test tube opening tilted downwards or away from personnel during heating. Use the outer flame of the alcohol lamp for heating, avoiding direct contact between the flame and the test tube opening to prevent backflow.

4. Extinguishing Procedure: First, use the lamp cap to extinguish the flame at an angle. After the flame is completely extinguished, lift the lamp cap and replace it. Never blow it out with your mouth.

5. Emergency Handling: If the lamp accidentally tips over or backflow occurs, immediately cover the flame with a damp cloth, fire blanket, or sand. If necessary, use a fire extinguisher and quickly evacuate the area.
